On Sunday, March 19th, we hosted our first public screening of Manufacturing the Clerical Predator. We are so grateful for the opportunity we had to show this film to a sold-out audience of supporters, friends, and fellow survivors. We've used this film already to train journalists, human rights attorneys, and survivor-advocates around the world. It's our hope that Manufacturing the Clerical Predator will continue to be used as an effective new theoretical and educational intervention into the clergy abuse catastrophe. 

Manufacturing the Clerical Predator

The Catholic Church has overseen the world’s longest lasting and most widespread campaign of institutional sexual abuse. Why is it that after sixteen centuries of documented evidence and decades of continuous international public exposure, new revelations of the scope and magnitude of the abuse crisis continue to shock the public?

In Manufacturing the Clerical Predator features former and current priests from Wisconsin who reveal how clerical pedophilia is not a phenomenon that occurs as the result of an external perversion of the Catholic hierarchy, but rather, a distinct form of sexual violence that is produced, manufactured, and reproduced within the clerical system.
